Knife amplification

I was just wondering if a knife stuck in a tree can amplify vibrations from the soil. 6  out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

What I think: no. Unless you stick a long sword in, it would only amplify only just a tiny fraction more decibels@1m unless someone proves me wrong... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Yes, seems possible with something long and thin perhaps. Though, I don't understand why you would need to. Explain this myth some more to us! :) 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Although, even if you stick something long and thin like a sword, it still would barely amplify the sound. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

It's like this: you stick your knife in the trunk of a tree, you stick your ear on the handle, and you put your hands in a praying position while the handle is in the middle.
Do you find this valuable?
