007
Jan 16 2008, 10:58 PM EST 1st - 007 carries a Walther PPK . I don't remember the caliber but he had to turn in his Barretta 9mm because it didn't have enough hitting power. (was known to bounce off windshields on occasion). 2nd - when 007 got his watch back from "M" and demo'ed it he said it could possibly deflect the path of a bullet - long range. The way I took it as said in the movie was that he could be along the path of the bullet and deflect it slightly as it passed on its way toward another target. Your show is the first i've heard of a deleted scene. 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: 007
Jan 19 2008, 4:42 PM EST In the books, 007 started with a .25acp beretta 950. He then moved to a .32acp Walther PPK (7.65x17mm, previous reply is correct). "Brosnan" Bond carried the Walther P99 9mm that was used in the tank segment. An asides, 9mm NATO ball (124gr, high pressure) would have stood a much better, almost certain chance of penetrating the tank... but the hollowpoints used did look spectacular, and it wouldn't have gotten both sides so as with the shotgun test it still would have been a failure. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. RE: 007
Jan 19 2008, 9:52 PM EST About the propane tank myth, i haven't seen the movie but there may have been some kind of pipeline coming off the tank that Bonds could have shot and the bullet would have penetrated. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
