Vietnam C-4 stove/bomb

It has been many years since I have heard about this. C-4 needs a primer to explode. C-4 can be burned in the open just by lighting it with a match and would give off a very hot fire. Some of the guys would break off a very small piece of C-4, Light it, and use the heat from the fire to warm up their C rations. On occasion when the troops were called to move again the soldier would try and stomp out the flame with their foot. Unfortunatly burning C-4 does not like to be compacted and would explode.There were some soldiers and Marines that had toes blown off trying to put ot a C-4 fire.
