it is people that fool with gas tanks that make them dangerous, gas tanks are safe, look you open them up, put in your fuel, then put the cap back on the gas tank, it is vented , and controlled, most of the new cars on the road have a poly-rubber-plastic compond, you can drive into the back of a car, and the gas tank is made to take the pressure, it is only in the movies that gas tanks leak, catch fire, then blow up, but once there was a car called the pinto made by ford in the 70's, if you hit the back of that car just right, yes it would become a fire ball, but it has bin banned, there was also a truck that if you hit the side of the truck with another car, the truck would become a fire ball, i forget who made that truck, i would say ford but that i am just not sure. most cars and trucks or vans gas tanks are made so if you hit the rear end of that car, the gas tank will push up out of the way of danger, it's also put in a spot that it will not get crushed and rupture like in the movies....................ed
