Name of Myth: Killer Cactus

History/Background of the Myth: Hunter in the desert with no luck getting any game. Finally, out of boredon he shoots a large cactus which then falls on top of him killing him on the spot,

Hypothesis of the Test: Cactus would not fall forward, but backward if anything.

Ideal MythBuster(s) to Conduct the Test: Any

Best Method to Conduct the Test: Construct a cactus like replica and shoot it from several different angles to test.

My Prediction: Busted

If you were standing under an arm of the cacti and were dumb enough to shoot at its base, then the arm would come crashing down, putting a serious dent in your skull, killing you. Also, if the cactus were leaning toward you, or if its center of gravity was in the wrong place it would come crashing down on you. Also also, the force of the bullet's impact would push the bottom of the cut off piece away from you, causing the top to tilt toward you, and then land on you.

Besides, what did the hunter expect to catch, Jackalope? That's the biggest thing around. Except maybe free-range cattle, but those belong to people, so you could get in trouble for killing them.

This definitely sounds like something they would test on the show and sounds like a lot of fun. How big do cacti grow anyway?
