Name of Myth: can String Kill?
History/Background of the Myth: The Simpson's had an episode where millhouses dad was driving and his had was cut off by a piece of string tied from one tree to another.
Hypothesis of the Test: I think it might work, or the dummie can get hooked up and just hang there.
Ideal MythBuster(s) to Conduct the Test: Adam & Jamie.
Best Method to Conduct the Test: Use a dummie, tie the string from one tree to another. Somehow have a car the is operated my a person (remote) and see what come out of it.
My Prediction: Plausible

I think the car would have to be a convertible with a very low windshield, as hitting a fast moving car face on would likely snap the wire.
The version I've always heard was for motorcycles using tense piano wire, being enough to either a) cut deep enough in an artery or crush the windpipe to kill, b) pull the cyclist off the bike, c) tear the head clean off. |

My father told me that his "cousin" was yanked out of the car by a "weed" wrapping around his arm. That would have to be one stubborn weed. Or maybe it was a vine...on the side of the road?
I have also heard that you can get your head lobbed off by said weed if you are driving fast enough. Could be a traffic sign but you'd really have to STRETCH for that one. :) Likely busted but hey, it would be funny to watch poor buster. :)
