Adam, Jamie, Crew....
After spendin' some time in PADOC. I've some thought's on making the crossbow a lil' more deadly even. All new convict's learn that toothpaste is the glue of choice in most County Jails & Prisons. Add water to thin, powders(baby, foot,...) to thicken. The bow should have been constructed like those of the Hun. Smaller pices of hardened( with toothpaste) news paper, glued and pressed together (sleep on it). Did you think to braid the elastic? I like the Penitentiary braid here.A good 9 to 3 to 1 braid could work alright. The bolt I would have gone with a pencil (eracer removed) cigarette filters as fletching and razor blades (removed from a disposable, noched inbeded) inline with the pencil point. Bolts could aslo be costructed from pens, toohbrushues, combs... Fletchings from book jackets, playing cards, cigarette packs. The stock I would have used the spine of a book or two to create the gruve for the bolt in a block of news paper equal to the bow. Center and mount bow ;larger pieces away from the stock, with screws removed from TV (dont ask how trust me). Make a double larks head knot at one noched bow end. Holding that end of the crossbow in on your hip pull the other tward the other tie off elastic release. Adjust tetion to suit. |
