Now far be it from me to discount these gentlemen's expertise. However, it occurs to me that this is probably a difficult myth to bust on the ground, of at least outside of a wind tunnel. Now if this has already been covered and i missed it then forgive me, but humor me. When the plane is in the air cruising at whatever altitude is considered the typical cruising altitude then there should not only be an atmospheric pressure situation created, but shouldn't there be as well a low pressure high pressure sort of a bernouli's pricinple between the inside of the plane and the out. If you're up in the air traveling at hundreds of miles an hour then that would create a low pressure system correct? Now conversely on the inside of the plane there is no wind no movement. If there were suddenly a puncture that connects the two pressure systems, then wouldn't the higher pressure system on the inside of the aircraft rush air, matter or liquid outward to fill this low pressure system? That would then cause the explosive decompression would it not? I know that this paticular myth is an old one, but i just saw the episode as a rerun and was quite dissappointed in their outcome. Now once again if this ground has already been covered then just dismiss this rant and move along, but it seems a blaring oversight to me. thanks.
