Carrot Vision
Name of Myth: Carrot Vision
History/Background of the Myth:It seems that in World War II, Britain's air ministry spread the word that a diet of carrots (already known to be a good source of Vitamin A, essential for healthy eyesight) helped pilots see Nazi bombers attacking at night. That was a propaganda story originating from Britain's Ministry of Food, intended to cover the real reason for the Royal Air Force's successes: Airborne Interception Radar, also known as AI. The secret new system pinpointed enemy bombers before they reached the English Channel. Apparently the motive of Lord Woolton (the Minister for Food) was twofold — it also encouraged folks to eat more vegetables (that could be grown in your own backyard) during ration time, when meat and imports were scarce.
Hypothesis of the Test: My guess is that carrots will not help you see in the dark.
Ideal MythBuster(s) to Conduct the Test: Kari,Tory,Grant
Best Method to Conduct the Test: 1.Start by showing how much you can see in the dark without carrots
2. Eat a certain amount of carrots each day for a week
3.At the end of the week try and see in the dark again and see if your vision is improved.
My Prediction: Plausible
